Lowndes County investigators confirm, 22 year-old Cortez Rashawn Young, of West Point has been arrested.

28 year-old Antwon Marquis Williams, is a person of interest, in connection with the case.

The night of the shooting, Cedrick Jackson was shot 6 times.

He had just arrived at his fiancee’s house and knocked on the door.

Jackson tells WCBI that’s when he heard footsteps behind him. He says the suspect shot him once, then again and again as he struggled for his life.

“He shot me. First shot like an experience I never felt such. Kinda in shock. So I hear another shot. That’s when I lunged at him,” says Jackson.

Jackson says he was shot and pistol whipped, even as he fought his attacker to the ground. He says the suspect finally ran away, jumping in the passenger side of a black impala that left the scene.

After 6 gunshots, several surgeries and 8 days in the hospital, Jackson says his survival is because of his faith. He offers this as proof.
