Video: Sentence Upheld In Copple Appeal

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-A Lowndes County man’s claims of self defense are not enough to overturn his double murder conviction. Daniel Copple says a Lowndes County jury failed to weigh his self defense claim when it convicted him in connection with a February 2011 double murder at the Elbow Room Lounge- an argument the state Court of appeals rejected today. Copple , who was convicted in the shooting deaths of James Bennett Mann and Mark Caudill , also unsuccessfully appealed that he was improperly denied a change of venue in the high profile murders Copple is currently serving two life sentences in the case.
