SALTILLO, Miss. (WCBI) — Selling cars in yards and vacant lots won’t be so easy in Saltillo any more. Tired of used cars cluttering road sides and competing with taxpaying car-dealerships, Saltillo aldermen have cracked down. Starting May 1st, used car sellers must fill out and application and pay a $10 fee per vehicle. And, it must be on their property.
Owners can get two permits a year and they are good for 90 days. The cars must be licensed and insured. Police will enforce the new law. Violators could face fines of up to a $1000 and even 90 days in jail.
