ETHELSVILLE, Ala. (WCBI) – A mid-morning attempted bank robbery shakes up a West Alabama town.
Around 9 :00A.M. Tuesday, a lone Black male entered the West Alabama Bank on Main Street in Ethelsville claiming to have a weapon and demanding money.
When tellers stalled, the man ran from the bank empty-handed. He was last seen headed west.
The suspect is described as an African-American male wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, black ball cap, and black pants.
For one former bank employee the robbery hit a little too close to home.
“A friend of mine from Reform called and wanted to know was I okay. You know what’s going on? I said, nothing I know of…looked out I the drive, and everything was surrounded in blue lights.”
