TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -A longtime financial adviser puts his advice in a book. Scott Reed signed copies of his new book “Top 40 Rules of Investing” at Reed’s Gumtree Bookstore.

Reed has been a financial adviser for more than 30 years and writes a weekly newspaper column on investing.

He says he wanted to write a book that is easy to understand and apply.

“My wife said this is the Paul Harvey of investment philosophy, what we try to do is not make it a 500 page book with 300 pages of footnotes, these are easy chapters to read, they take six to eight minutes to read a chapter, they have a point to them, a lesson in there, and you move on and it’s something you want to keep on your desk, not put on your shelf because you can go back and reread these things over and over again.”

Reed says investments should not be a gamble, but should be looked as a way to enhance your lifestyle.
