Video: School District Extends Programs into Summer

HOULKA, Miss. (WCBI) -School’s out, but that doesn’t keep some districts from continuing to meet the needs of students.

The Chickasaw County School District hosts a number of learning opportunities for area youngsters, but they are also taking time to build bodies as well as minds.

To help parents in the community, the Houlka Attendance Center is extending the school’s free breakfast and lunch into the summer.

“The 12 days we are operating, there for our Summer Program, each student can come get a free breakfast and a free lunch while they are here. The Summer Feeding Program is also important, because it’s for any person 18 years and under.”
