Video: Road and Bridge Work Completed Ahead of Schedule

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A busy Columbus road reopens more than a week ahead of schedule. Lehmberg Road reopened to traffic Friday.

Construction crews have been replacing braces and pouring new concrete for footings on the Magby Creek Bridge.

The original completion date was set for March 1st, but good weather and some hard work shortened the timetable.

“And that’s because we threw in some extra days because of the bad weather in case we ran in to any. But we had great weather for the last couple of weeks here  most parts of the days, so weather construction was able to uh finish a little ahead of time”.

The city also paved a section of the road from Highway 50 to Lowndes Funeral Home.
