Video: Reading Fair Promotes Love Of Books And Learning

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Tupelo Public School students are learning that reading is an adventure.

The annual district wide reading fair took place at the Civic Auditorium. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade chose a book, and made a display showing the main points of their reading selection.

Organizers hope the reading fair sparks a fascination among students for reading.

“We want to foster their love of learning and reading and be able to express themselves creatively on their boards to show what they have learned,” said Lynn Brooks, reading fair coordinator.

First place winners in each category head to the regional competition next month.
