VIDEO: Prom For Students With Special Needs

NEW HOPE, Miss. (WCBI)- Some very special students received the royal treatment this evening!

Mount Vernon Church in New Hope hosts its annual “Joy Prom”.

Where students with special needs were accompanied by Lowndes County high schoolers to dance the night away.

A ride in a sports car, a walk down a red carpet, and an entourage of cheers completed their evening.

Organizers of the event say this is a great way to help students with special needs feel like every other high schooler.
