Video: Progress Continues on New Tupelo P.D. Headquarters

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Another milestone in the move for the Tupelo Police Department. Contractors were up at the break of day to start pouring the foundation for the second story of the new police headquarters. That means the skeleton of the project is halfway completed.

Work on the two story- ten million dollar building started in April. When it is completed in late 2016 or early 2017, All of the Police departments functions will be under one roof.

For years, different departments were scattered throughout downtown.Discovery of mold in some of those buildings has forced the department to have a temporary home at the Tupelo airport
