Video: Power Outage to Hit Lee County Early Saturday Morning

LEE, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Lee communities will be in the dark Saturday morning.

Tombigbee Electric Power Association officials say the 3-hour blackout is necessary in reducing risk while workers do maintenance on a transmission line serving Shannon and Nettleton substations.

The blackout is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. Saturday morning, and will end at about 4 a.m. that same morning.

Areas to be affected by the outage include Shannon, Nettleton, Old Union, Pontocola and Union communities, including areas east of Nettleton.
