Video: Pontotoc Residents Spend Weekend Honoring MLK

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI) – Pontotoc County residents are kicking off the holiday weekend by honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

They held a parade in downtown Pontotoc Saturday afternoon to celebrate.

“A Walk Down Memory Lane” was the theme of this year’s parade.

And the celebrations didn’t end after the parade was over.

Residents also held a banquet for Dr. King, which was put on by the MLK Dream Committee.

The events continue on Sunday, with a Martin Luther King commemorative program at the Pontotoc Junior High School auditorium.
