VIDEO: Police Believe Escapees Had Help From Outside Source

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson believes two escapees got help from at least one person and possibly others to start their run from the law.

31-year-old Michael Patterson and 36-year-old Mickey Joe Williams were last seen at the Jail Saturday evening, working as trustees.

Johnson says the pair used some sort of tool to cut a hole in a fence to escape.

He believes the men stole a truck from a business.

Surveillance video at the New Albany Wal Mart shows the stolen truck pulling into the parking lot.

Johnson says a man went inside the store and took a pellet gun.

The truck was found abandoned on Interstate 22 in Union County.

Anyone helping the two will face criminal charges.
