Video: Police and Residents Talk it Out in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A community forum is held in order to rebuild the relationship between African-American communities, and the police. “Save our Sons and Daughters” took place at the Sportsplex annex in Starkville.
Guest Speakers talked about the officer-involved shootings of African American men, and how to restore trust. A panel discussion, made up of police officers, lawyers, and pastors was apart of the forum.
A mother of two told WCBI this is a discussion that every parent should have with their children.
The talking points centered around the recent police shootings, Knowing your rights when pulled over, and making sure residents got an officer’s perspective.
