Video: Plans Set For Annual Unity Picnic in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — What is becoming an annual community event returns this weekend in Columbus. Mayor Robert Smith will host the annual Mayor’s Unity Picnic at the Columbus Riverwalk. The event helps close out the city’s annual Pilgrimage and gives are residents and visitors alike a chance to relax and enjoy food and music.
“It’s just a good chance for family’s to come out and relax and have a good time; it’s just a good wholesome event,” said Columbus Mayor, Robert Smith.
Saturday’s event is from 4 to 8 p.m. and is free to the public. It’s a project of the Mayor’s Youth Council and other groups and is NOT paid for by taxpayer dollars.
