VIDEO: Plane Lands on Lowndes County Roads

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WCBI) – An unusual landing in southern Lowndes County, leads to some tense moments before the plane takes off again.

The small aircraft landed near the intersection of Carson Road and Highway 792, that’s near the International Paper facility.

Witnesses on the scene tell WCBI a Mississippi Department of Transportation employee saw the plane land on the highway and called 9-1-1.

State troopers also responded to the scene.

There did not appear to be any issues with the plane, and the pilot took off from the highway a short time afterwards.

MHP has not released any information about the incident.
