VIDEO: Pittsboro Sales Tax Almost Unaffected By Liquor Tax

PITTSBORO, Miss. (WCBI)- Pittsboro has seen little to no sales tax increase since it passed a liquor referendum earlier this year.

This years sales tax is $10,841.85 where as last years was $7,649.14.

City officials say that that’s about the average difference per year.

Since the passing of the new referendum, however, the city has seen an increase in tax coming from the town’s only liquor store.

Officials say they hope to see it improve and grow throughout the rest of the year.
