VIDEO: Pit Bull Fighting Ring Busted

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- The Monroe County Sheriff’s department seized over 20 dogs after a tip that, escaped fugitive, Fredrick Randle was running a dog fighting ring.

“We’re not gonna have this in Monroe County, period,” says Sheriff Cecil Cantrell.

That’s the warning from Cantrell Tuesday evening. Over 20 dogs were rescued from absolutely horrendous conditions.

“You can see the dogs not being taken care of, no water no feed. It’s just terrible, terrible living conditions for these animals,” says Cantrell.

Scars, from previous fights, are easily seen- just like the syringes scattered around the compound.

“They do keep them sped up with B-12 and everything, a lot of times they use steroids as well to help strengthen the dos for the fight,” says investigator Tony Coxey.

Puppies bred, specifically for fighting, are crammed into small cages. Cantrell says, he has one more cage he wants to fill.

“Mr. Randall, if you’re listening come turn yourself in, because we’re coming for you,” says Cantrell.

The dogs will be taken to the sheriff’s department and evaluated by a vet to see which ones can be adopted out.
