Video: ‘Pigskins In The Park’ To Return In October

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – The official watch party for both Ole Miss and Mississippi State will take place next month in Tupelo.

This morning, officials with C Spire, Bancorpsouth and Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association announced plans for the watch party known as “Pigskins in the Park.”

On October 3rd,  MSU plays Texas A and M  and Ole Miss plays the Florida Gators .  Both games are on the road and both games will be televised on a giant Jumbotron at Fairpark in downtown Tupelo.

“Community involvement is real big to C Spire, we like getting involved in the community, giving back and just being part of the community,” said Jacob Thomas of C Spire.

“There will be a lot of tailgating going on, a lot of folks will be out here with their families, just truly family fun and a great event for Northeast Mississippi,” said Mark Burleson, of Bancorpsouth.

C Spire is sponsoring a “show your true colors” tailgate contest.  Judges will be looking for the most elaborate tent, and costumes, for Ole Miss and State fans.   The top winner for each university will get an iPad mini.
