Video: Pastors Call For Citywide Prayer Vigil

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Ministers from across Tupelo met  to announce an upcoming prayer vigil following recent tragedies that have threatened the unity of the city and the nation.

The pastors gathered at the Temple of Compassion and Deliverance and issued an invitation to all members of the  public to take part in an area-wide prayer vigil.

The vigil’s organizers want to emphasize that this vigil seeks to rise above racial barriers and incorporate all citizens of the Tupelo area despite creed, color, or affiliation.

“We don’t want any problems in Tupelo, Mississippi, period, you know, so I think we can offset some things if we come together now,” said Bishop Clarence Parks, pastor of TCD.

“I just want to see God move in our city in a major way that man can’t explain nor understand it,” said David Ball, pastor of the Anchor Church.

The Temple of Compassion and Deliverance will host the vigil, which is scheduled to begin at 6 am next Monday and run 24 hours, concluding at 6  Tuesday morning.
