Video: One Half of Turkey Hunter Transplant Team Passes Away

NICODEMUS, Kan. (WCBI) -The Kansas man who received an extended life because of a chance meeting with a Starkvile fireman has died.

Gil Alexander of Nicodemus Kansas died Wednesday .

Alexander and Starkville fireman Rob Robinson became forever linked after Robinson knocked on Alexander’s door in Kansas looking for a place to hunt.

The two became so close that Robinson donated a kidney to Alexander in 2013.

Following that surgery the pair became unofficial spokespeople for organ donation.

Alexander will be laid to rest Saturday in Kansas
