COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Purple and gold were as far as the eye can see. The greek organization and Columbus Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity hosted the annual state meeting this weekend.
More than 100 fraternity members from all across the state met at Mississippi University for Women – members that have stayed actively involved well beyond college.
“Our organization offers community service and civic activity in our communities. We do a lot of work with young children and just try to give a lot of service to the community and area,” said Fraternity State Keeper, Rev. Tony Montegomery.
“Omega has changed the way I live by becoming a better man and a responsible man and a friend amongst everyone,” said member of Psi Gama Gama, Bennie Hairston.
Activities lasted all day and concluded with a talent competition showcasing students from local high schools.
