OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) -Ole Miss, Oxford and Lafayette County are recognized for their work with veterans.
The Military Order of the Purple heart recognized the area for its support of vets and current military members. An office the school focuses solely on veterans and service members attending class and living in the city.
“The University attracts a lot of veterans and we want them to feel at home in Oxford, have a positive experience, have a positive experience on campus and when they come out into the community, feel at home, feel like that are appreciated.”
The University of Mississippi is home to 205 registered veteran students, 250 ROTC cadets and over 900 students using GI Bill Benefits.
