Video: Oktibbeha County Residents Turn out to Fight Cancer
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Horse Park was bathed in Purple Friday as Oktibbeha County residents trotted for a cure.
Hundreds gathered for the Oktibbeha County Relay for Life.
The Teams have been busy raising money for Cancer research. The event serves as a celebration of their hard work.
There was a ceremony to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer, and a Survivor’s Lap to honor those who have beat the disease.
The event draws a divers crowd, but all have the same goal – Defeating the disease.
“It’s an opportunity to do what we can to help others raise money for awareness, and having family members that are cancer survivors and ones that have moved on with cancer. It’s just a way to participate and giving to the community. It’s a great feeling to do this.”
Money raised from the Relay for Life goes toward research funded by the American Cancer Society.
