Video: Noxubee County Employee Sues – Claims Sex Discrimination

MACON, Miss. (WCBI) – A Noxubee County employee claims she was denied a promotion by the Board of Supervisors because she’s a woman.

Mary Taylor, who’s been a jailor and dispatcher for Noxubee County since 1988, has applied numerous times for the position of Emergency Management Director.

She says each time, she’s been more qualified than the other candidates, but was not offered the job.

Taylor wants compensation for mental anxiety, stress, and loss of income.

She requests actual and punitive damages in an amount to be determined by a jury, plus attorney fees.
