Video: North Mississippians Raise Awareness About Breast Cancer

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – More than 3,600 people descended on downtown Tupelo for a good cause.
The weather was chilly at Fair Park as runners and walkers prepared for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
The money is raised through registration fees, fundraising and sponsorships. Most of the money stays in the area.
Organizers say they hope to break the $200,000 mark this year after raising $190,000 last year for grants.
She says there has been progress in the area of research as various personalized treatments have been found to help women afflicted with breast cancer.
