Video: NEWMS Presents 2016 Women of Distinction Awards

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Seven women and one organization were honored for their contributions to Northeast Mississippi.

The “Women of Distinction” luncheon is organized by New Expectations for Women Of Mississippi, or NEWMS.

During the luncheon, women who have made lasting contributions to the area and state are given awards, along with an organization.

“Everyone is nominated for this honor, then it goes through a strenuous selection committee that looks at all the many things, because we have so many wonderful things going on in our region, but these women have really stood out in the past two years.”

The Family Resource Center was the organization honored during today’s luncheon.
