STARKVILLE, Miss. – Thousands of new and returning students are taking over the Mississippi State University campus to get ready for the fall semester.
Saturday was the 8th annual “Movin’ You to MSU” Day, where each residence hall is back open for the semester.
The University says more than 500 of their volunteers are helping incoming freshmen move onto campus for the first time.
WCBI spoke with some of those students who say they’re looking forward to college.
“Freedom. Able to pursue a field that I really enjoy, you know, take classes that I find interesting and will help me in my future and a career that I hope to achieve,” said Nate Saint, an incoming freshman.
“We’re excited for him to move on to the next step in his life and sad that he won’t be here every day, but excited about our grocery bill going down a little bit,” said Cammy Saint, Nate’s mom.
Nate says he plans to major in biological sciences, with a concentration in physical therapy.
MSU houses nearly 4,800 students on campus.
