WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – A partnership between two names recognized around the world will mean a new golf destination in Northeast Mississippi. But it’ll also have economic benefits that will ripple across the Golden Triangle.
We told you Wednesday about the new Mossy Oak Golf Course being built across the street from Old Waverly in West Point. The Bryan family and Mossy Oak are partnering on the new open nature style Mossy Oak Course. While it’s big news that already has attracted the interest of the golf media and players from around the nation, locals say it’s a testament to the region’s people and economic opportunities.
“It’s going to have a big economic impact on the whole community of West Point, Starkville and Columbus.”
“The friendliest people and the most fun-loving people that let you just be yourself and it’s a really big deal. It’s different than a lot of golf destinations.”
The course is expected to open late next year or in early 2017.
