Video: New Financial Aid Rules Face Incoming College Students
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A new state wide regulation could affect college students’ financial aid status.
One item on the checklist for incoming students at the Mississippi University for Women’s orientation was money for school.
While new students learn about campus, they’re also being informed about a new requirement for those receiving state financial aid.
If they get that assistance, students must be enrolled in 15 credit hours to qualify.
Upperclassman might be impacted more, but some incoming freshmen don’t seem too worried.
“It doesn’t really surprise me because I was planning on taking more classes anyways and I was going to be over fifteen hours so I guess it really doesn’t surprise me at all. ”
The new requirements kick in this fall.
