STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Cable customers in Starkville will soon see some changes to their service. MaxxSouth Broadband, formerly known as MetroCast, is expanding their network and taking customer service to new heights.
“This will offer an environment that’s a much better consumer experience than what they’ve been able to have previously in the community,” says Starkville Mayor Parker Wiseman.
MaxxSouth Broadband is launching new customer care plans that include 24-hour customer service support and interactive retail centers.
“It’s all about customer commitment and service. There’s no doubt the industry for a long time has just been a place where you came and paid your bill. The industry has been good about servicing you but now it’s about treating the customer in person all the time. They come into our call centers, our retail center any time to deal with us,” says Peter Kahelin, CEO and President of MaxxSouth.
MaxxSouth will broadcast to nearly 45,000 customers in 60 communities throughout Mississippi. The cable company will also launch a new sports network: MaxxSouth Sports.
The high definition regional sports channel will focus on high school and community college athletic events.
“We’re just getting started but the acceptance has been fantastic. Everywhere we go people are just going crazy. When’s it gonna be on? What channel is it going to be on?,” says General Manager of MaxxSouth Sports, Mark Boyer.
“It’s gonna be a place where people can watch it exlusively on MaxxSouth Broadband. They can watch it on Video Demand. They can watch the live games, the replay games. The can even buy a DVR of the game as well,” says Kahelin.
MaxxSouth will also provide upgraded internet service for its Starkville customers. MaxxSouth is based in Ohio and a division of the Block Communications media company.
