VIDEO: MUW Parent Day

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- For some it was a chance to heal the empty nest blues, for others a time just to check in on the kids at college.

Parents were the guests today on the Mississippi University For Women campus.

It’s an annual event for families to visit students on campus and get a look around at how the W is doing.

Parents say its good to get a glimpse of what life is like for their child on campus.

“I love it, and it brings back lots of good memories, and I like that she’s getting to participate in things that I participated in here and new stuff, and to see things around campus that have changed,” says an MUW mother, Dawn Gibbons.

Her husband agrees.

“It gives us a sense of security knowing about the campus, what the college offers. The atmosphere, small town, the student body, they’re caring. They bond together and take care of each other,” says Micheal Gibbons.
