COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi University for Women is sending support to victims of sexual and domestic violence.
The MUW Counseling Center hosted its annual “Jeans for Justice” program Tuesday.
Students, faculty and staff painted stories on jeans to remember and honor someone who has been a victim.
Organizers hope the project not only raises awareness, but empowers both women and men who have been affected by domestic and sexual violence.
Counselors at the center say one in every four college-aged women is a victim of an attempted or completed assault.
