STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi State students got a chance to shake hands and pass out resumes to reps from some of the largest employers in the country this afternoon.
The university’s annual career fair began its two-day event on Tuesday for business and non-technical job seekers. Today students in engineering and technical careers came out to meet with companies like Toyota and Nissan. About 175 employers and over 1200 students and alumni are expected to attend this year’s job fair.
“Personally I would like to get into the car industry, like Toyota, Honda, are here. The same thing with Nissan,” says Sophomore Emilio Castaneda, a Mechanical Engineering major.
“I would like to work for the Corp of Engineers or Southern Company. I’m targeting 21 companies today. So hopefully I can find a job. Somebody will hire me,” says Jasmine Butler, a senior majoring Civil Engineering.
The career fair is free and open to all academic majors. The fair is held twice a year, in February and September.
