Video: MSMS Students Flock to the Polls

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Voter turnout was brisk at one polling place in Columbus on “Election Eve”.

Students at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science held a mock election.

And, contrary to some national pundits, voter apathy is not an issue with all young people. 211 of the 235 students cast ballots in the race. That’s about 90% turnout.

The MSMS Young Democrats, Young Independents, and Young Republicans hosted the event.

And if you’re wondering who garnered the youth vote:

Clinton          54%
Trump           18.5%
Johnson          8.1%
Stein              7.1%
Castle            1.4%
De La Fuente  0.5%
Hedges           0.0%
