MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-Right now there is no dangerous dog ordinance in Monroe County. Monroe County Supervisors are working on a vicious dog ordinance they can sink their teeth into. They were suppose to vote on the issue today [Friday] but instead tabled the measure to explore options and tweak and revise what they now have. That’s since since complaints and concerns involving vicious animal reports.
“Some of the board members and some private citizens want to have a chance to look over it again with an interest in splitting that out. Dog aggression against humans versus a separate ordinance for dog against domesticated animals to make it into two ordinances,” said Carol Crawford, Monroe County Supervisor.
Two supervisors are expected to meet with private citizen on Thursday as the county continues to come up with an ordinance everyone can live with.
