VIDEO: Monday Crash Sends Woman To Hospital

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WCBI) – A crash involving a log truck sends a Columbus woman to the hospital this afternoon in Lowndes County.

The accident happened on Highway 69, near the Alabama state line.

State troopers say it appears the car 22-year-old Kelcey Silvestri was driving was attempting to turn left.

That’s when an 18 wheeler driven by 32-year-old Kendall Martin of Carrollton, Alabama attempted to pass Silvestri’s car.

The vehicles collided, sending the 18-wheeler into a ditch.

A utility pole was damaged.

Silvestri was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Martin was not hurt.
