Video: MDOT Delays Opening Highway

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — If you were planning to drive on the new Mississippi Highway 6 in Tupelo this week, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation says it’s delaying the opening of the highway because of recent heavy rain.

The road was originally scheduled to open for traffic, Monday.

No word on a new opening date yet.

Highway 6 and U.S. 278 will essentially connect the Tupelo region to Batesville.
