Video: McDaniel Runoff Lawsuit Trial to Begin Sept. 15

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — The lawsuit challenging the Republican runoff win by U.S. Senator Thad Cochran will begin September 15th.

State Senator Chris McDaniel wants a court to declare him the winner or order a new election.

Retired Judge Hollis McGehee says the trial must be finished by Oct. 3.

The case will be heard at the Jones County Courthouse.

McDaniel claims there were thousands of voting irregularities. Cochran won by 7,600 votes.

The general election is Nov. 4.
