TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Students at one Tupelo school had a special visitor from the State Capitol.
Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves paid a visit to Allyson McGraw’s first grade class at Joyner Elementary.
The class wrote letters to Reeves awhile back, asking him questions about state government and extending an invitation to visit the school.
Reeves spent part of the morning with students, answering their questions and explaining the ins and outs of state government.
“It’s good to see these young people , great things they are doing , the way in which they are learning the foundation they’re building because while they are very young now and they have moved through the school system they will be the leaders of tomorrow ,” Reeves said.
The Lt. Governor was joined by state senator Nancy Adams Collins, who attended Joyner Elementary as a student.
