Video: Lowndes County School Board Selects Tech Center Site

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Plans for a Career Tech Center in Lowndes County are moving forward.

The Lowndes County School Board voted to buy 50 acres of land off of Lehmberg Road near the intersection with Highway 50.

Some improvements have been completed on the fourteen acre building site. And it already has city water, sewer, and electric service.

The purchase price of the property came in at $756,835.00. The project is one of several funded by a bond issue passed by voters earlier this year.

Architects are finalizing plans for the facility, and the board is expected to advertise for bids in the next 60 days.

The work is expected to be finished within eighteen months
