Video: Lowndes County Man Sentenced In Manslaughter Conviction

Columbus, Mississippi (WCBI) – A Lowndes County man convicted of killing his wife’s boyfriend will serve 15 years in prison.
George Strickland, 48, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with five years suspended, on Wednesday afternoon in Lowndes County Circuit Court.
He was found guilty of manslughter for the 2011 shooting death of Christopher George, 36.
Strickland claimed he shot the man in self defense.
Strickland will also serve five years probation. He was also fined $1,000 and ordered to pay court costs.
