Video: Lowndes County Getting Upgraded E-911 Equipment

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Lowndes County’s E 911 system will soon receive a $500,000.00 upgrade.

The Board of Supervisors agreed to the equipment and software purchase at their meeting Tuesday morning.

New E 911 offices are under construction next to the current facility.

The new, possibly life saving, equipment will be installed when construction is complete.

“It will basically help us to multi-task a little bit better and be able to handle things more effectively and efficiently within the office to serve the community.”

The E 911 building is scheduled to be finished this Summer.
