COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s out with the old and in with new for the Columbus Air Force Base sign on Highway 45.
The Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Base and community to make some changes.
An outdated sign across from the T-37 static display will be removed and replaced with a larger, more updated marker.
” It’s a beautiful, beautiful sign that will go out there and really improve that area which from this community, the base, we help them, they help us, so that common goal there is to better this community and that’s what we’re going to do by supporting them in this sign effort.”
A sign committee has been created to start work on the $24,000.00 LED sign. They plan to be done by Spring.
The money is coming from community donations…If you would like to donate to the project contact the Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce or the CREATE Foundation.
