STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Dozens of young North Mississippi girls pulled out their crowns Sunday for a princess tea party.
It’s part of a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.
WCBI’s very own Aundrea Self emceed the event.
The girls listened as former Mississippi Lieutenant Governor Amy Tuck gave them some encouraging words.
They also munched on some princess-themed cupcakes and cookies.
Organizer Jasmine Murray says the tea party raises awareness about the Children’s Miracle Network and her personal platform – 13 Going on 30.
“Which goes towards making sure that girls don’t grow up too fast, and helping them to embrace their age, so I felt like it would be an amazing opportunity to really kind’ve put both of these together and get these girls excited about 13 Going on 30 and the Children’s Miracle Network, and the difference that they can make in the lives of others,” Murray said.
Murray says she hopes to raise more than $1,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network at Sunday’s event.
