COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Reid Carter spends much of his time helping children with disabilities do makeovers on their rooms.

On Tuesday he was in the business of pulling one over on his long time girlfriend.

A flash mob appeared at the Riverwalk about 7:30 Tuesday night to help Carter pop the question to girlfriend Denene Thompson.

The surprise even included a group of dancers to help set the stage.

The plan had been in place for a while but was complicated a bit because his now fiancee unexpectedly planned a birthday party as well.
