COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — We missed a crippling ice storm. Now, 4-County Electric Power Association is sending two crews to Georgia and South Carolina where residents are under a sheet of ice. 16 employees will leave in the morning to help rural cooperatives in those areas hit hardest by the crippling ice storm. The crews will help repair power poles and lines. They are bracing to clean-up after significant damage.
“It’s just a challenge. You never know what you are running into, where we are going to go when we get there. We got some good guys and we are going to be up for it. We are just ready to help.”
4-County has an agreement to help other electric cooperatives during and after disasters.
