TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Dozens of runners braved a stiff wind chill to raise money for a good cause.
The first ever Color Run got off to a colorful start Saturday morning at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.
They want to raise money for much needed lights for the school’s baseball field.
The Eagles who made the state playoffs this past year have been hampered by not being able to play night games at home.
Baseball Coach Will Lowery says they hope to raise about $35,000 to install the lights. He says this event was just the first step.
Lowery says some of the proceeds will be donated to the St Jude’s Make a Wish Foundation and TCPS sponsors a Make a Wish kid every year.
This year they’re raising $5,000 to send someone to Disney World next month.
