COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Living a healthy lifestyle can be a challenge for anyone. The Boys and Girls Club of Columbus caught up on some key health tips from the “Fit and Fabulous” Program. Put on by the Junior Auxiliary of Columbus, F – 3 encourages healthy habits, and children learn that everyday fun activities are part of getting fit.
“Everyday activity can be exercise. They don’t think about hoola-hooping, jump roping and just dancing and different ways to move, without really feeling like you are exercising.
Children being active is hard now a days with all of the technology. Most of them are staring at a screen all day. So getting them active will help with both healthy and muscle strength”
According to the State Department of Health,, Mississippi has one of the highest rates of childhood obesity in the nation.
