Video: Judge Dismisses Malpractice Case Against Columbus Surgeon

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A judge dismisses a malpractice claim against a Columbus doctor before the defense even puts on any testimony.Marcella and Raymond Scott claimed general surgeon Doctor Jerry Stennett failed to inform them of risks involved after a botched thyroid surgery in October 2010.

During testimony Tuesday, the Scotts’ expert said his opinions would be different if he’d been shown all the paperwork related to the surgery by their attorney, Monique Montgomery.
Wednesday, Judge Jim Kitchens granted Stennett’s request to drop the lawsuit for lack of evidence. Baptist Golden Triangle settled with the couple.
